Terrence Webster Doing Standup

The Terrence Webster Memorial Scholarship Fund is designed to provide at-risk and low-income youth with part and full-tuition scholarships for capoeira training at reputable capoeira schools throughout the United States.

Participating Capoeira Schools

In order for a capoeira school to be eligible to have scholarship funds applied to their program, the school must undergo a thorough screening process to ensure that the school environment, philosophy, teaching, and leadership expertise are all organized to provide youth with the highly positive development that is possible through capoeira training.

Eligibility Requirements

Scholarships are made available to children and teens ages 4-18 who demonstrate a serious interest in capoeira training and real financial need. Recipients are expected to maintain high standards of excellence in their capoeira training, academic efforts, and personal conduct as well as to adopt an attitude of service by completing approved ongoing volunteer community service equal to one half the total training time paid for by their scholarship. (Example, a student who receives a scholarship equal to 8 hours of capoeira classes per month will be expected to complete 4 hours of volunteer community service per month.)
