The Terrence Webster Memorial Scholarship
The Terrence Webster Memorial Scholarship Fund has been formed in honor of Terrence “Brasa” Webster, who was killed in an automobile accident on Monday, February 4th 2008 at the age of 22. Terrence was a capoeira instructor with Brazilian Capoeira in Colorado and was the organization’s first student in Colorado Springs. Not only was Terrence a remarkable practitioner of the sport, but also he had an unforgettable spirit that inspired and touched the lives of many of his colleagues and students.

Terrence’s life was dramatically affected by his involvement with capoeira. Through capoeira he developed his powerful leadership, teaching, and mentoring skill. He developed physically, becoming a noted talent within the capoeira community throughout the nation. He developed musically and mentally as capoeira training introduced him to singing, playing musical instruments, and Portuguese language studies. Capoeira took Terrence in travels throughout the state, nation, and into Brazil for training, teaching, and chances to share his passion for the sport with others.

The Terrence Webster Memorial Scholarship will provide opportunities for at-risk and underprivileged youth to develop their own personal skills through the study of capoeira by providing part and full-tuition scholarships for capoeira training at reputable capoeira schools throughout the United States.
